- To support treatment success of MDR-TB patients in line with National TB guidelines
- To implement project activities collaboration with National TB Program and other stakeholders
- To promote strengthening the capacity of community volunteers through trainings
- To ensure effective infection control measures in coverage areas through promotion of awareness in community
Project briefs:
In 2018 up to 2020, PGK will adopt "Patient Centered Community Based MDR-TB Care Model" funded by UNOPS-GFATM and will implement the same activities as in 3MDG funded project.Partners are MMA, MHAA & PGK with community volunteers. This model intend to support the treatment success of MDR-TB patients while ensuring infection control and standard package of support with close colleboration of National Tuberculosis Program in 21 township in Yangon. This project will have ready access to key player at the community level including volunteers and volunteer monitors.

Major Supporting Activties
- Evening DOT provision through community trained volunteers
- Monthly Transportation Allowance for follow up visits to MDRTB Patients – 30,000 MMK via ATM system and direct payment
- Infection control measures – delivering towels, masks, sputum jars.
- Side effects monitoring and psychological supports to patients
- Contact tracing and referral system
- Health Education Sessions in community
