Objective: 

 

  • To provide technical assistance and support to National TB program.

  • To reduce the incidence of and mortality related to MDR-TB .

Project briefs: 

Pyi Gyi Khin is expected to work on all activities of MDR-TB under the technical supervision and in close collaboration with FHI 360, National TB program and other CAP-TB and USAID partners in Myanmar as requested. Pyi Gyi Khin will provide a package of services to MDR-TB patients in following townships in Myanmar. Pyi Gyi Khin will conduct community outreach activities, Home Base Care and supports in total 6 townships of Yangon namely Hlaing, Mayangoen, Mingalardon, North-Dagon, North-Okkalarpa and Shwe Pyi Thar.

Project activities and Place: 

  • Home-based care to MDR-TB patients by TCPs monthly

    1. Township Community Provider(Outreach Worker) monitor side-effects of MDR_TB drugs with Side Effects checklist, infection control checklist, adherence counseling, psychological counseling  support to MDR-TB patients.
    2. Living support such as nutritionpackage and transportation charges for follow up to MDR-TB patients.
  • Awareness Education (Health Talk) about TB/MDR-TB messages to general population, contact persons during home based care, high risks people joining with other CBO, HIV network and local authority, National TB Program.

  • Refer presumptive TB cases of MDR-TB family members and other population to health facilities (Township Health Center).

  • Participation

    1. Participation in World TB day activities with National TB Program.
    2. Cough Campaign cooperation with FHI 360, MMA and MHAA.
    3. Advocacy meeting and coordination meeting with FHI 360, NTP and other partners organization.
  • Community DOTs provision activities to MDR-TB patients by supporting of volunteers and volunteer monitors (new expansion activities in FY-15).

  • House rental for MDR-TB patients mainly for initial injection period (6 months) of treatment intend for infection control measures (in FY-14 activities).

  • Support Capacity Building Training to CAP-TB team members.
